Kanane Francis

The Urban Jockey, Kanane is an aspiring jockey from Leicester. He started at the urban equestrian academy after completing his level 2 in animal care at college. 

The speed and adrenaline rush took his passing for animals to a whole new level. Sitting on his first horse in 2020 he was enrolled in the racing school by June, then graduated the British racing school in September 2022.

Kanane is a role model for the kids from Leicester at the urban equestrian academy. Having the determination to keep pushing diversity in the industry and show people that it doesn’t matter where you come from you can make it to any career you want to.

Now Living in Newmarket, Kanane is currently working as a rider with the determination and ambition to one day ride in the grand national.
